Finding the time…

So, this is a blog to complain about not having time to write.  It’s also a way to ask others, how do you find the time to write?

I am always trying to find time to write, however, my creative mess in my head doesn’t always go on a schedule.  Not to mention the fact that I do still have a life and a family who needs me.  So what do some of you do in order to not lose your creativity or lose an idea or anything when it comes your writing?

  1. Something that helps me is keeping a goal. Along with a treat if i achieve the goal.
For eg, I’d reward myself with a delicious cupcake (sugary reward! woohoo!) if i post 2 times a week. 😀

    1. That is a great incentive! 🙂 My writing and my dream of being a writer seems to always take a backseat to…life. LOL I have been working on setting a certain time aside just for writing. Even if it’s just scribbles and babbling. But the goal to keep it sounds like an awesome idea. Thank you!

  2. Wow, yeah, really weird to see you having exactly the same problems as I do when I want to right. I know that writers (amateur or professionnal) all have problems with writing and they have to deal with them.
But this is what I’m facing and to be honest I don’t know how I do it, I write little parts on each story I’ve started and I try to write as much as I can when I’m getting good ideas or a good vibe, though I can’t always do it.
The annoying part is that it rarely happens when I’m in a position to write a lot or to write at all (like just after I get out of the house and in the bus, bam! I suddenly want to write…)

    1. Yeah, I’m the same way. It’s always at the most inconvenient times when I can’t just sit down and write. I get that itch in my hand and fingers to hold a pen and to put words to paper (or electronic if I have it readily available).

I try to make sure I have some kind of notebook or device to write. I have taken to recording my voice on my phone now and then transferring when I have some down time.

I’m still trying to find the time and the mental capacity (I’m always thinking of other things that need to get done) to get my writing done.
