What the hell?

What is going on with the world today?  Sound like a song?  Nope.  It’s me, asking what the hell is going on?!  Why is there so much hate, so much death, so much unpleasantness?  Everywhere I turn I’m reading or hearing or watching something horrible.  Bombings, spouses killing each other, shootings of all ages…  It’s just not right.

I’m not a naive person and thinks that all things should be sunshine and roses, but I do believe in being a good person.  I believe in helping others when they need help.  I believe that you give the person the benefit of the doubt until they scew you over once.  Then they are done.  I try to teach my kids that, too. But I fear for them and what kind of world they are growing up in.  What happened to the days of my childhood?  The days where you could run around the neighborhoods or ride your bike all over with no fear of someone snatching you away just to hurt you?

I don’t know exactly when the world got so scary, but I hope that it changes soon.  Before our kids’ kids can’t even leave the house in fear of what the world holds.

New Year, New Posts

It is still 2014 and I have been remiss in posting any new blogs.  That is because the holidays take up so much of my time.  However, with the new year fast approaching, I have a few ideas for new posts.  So, look for more posts in 2015 and until then, enjoy the rest of 2014!

Happy New Year!

Sam

I hate when I do this

I had a good blog post that I wanted to write when I got home from running errands.  I even “wrote” it in my head as I drove (don’t worry, I was still paying attention), but for the life of me I cannot remember what it was that I was going to write about!!!  😦  Well, I guess at some point it will hit me again and I will make some kind of note about what it was if I’m not by my computer!!!

Entitled?

When did people start feeling like they are entitled to so much stuff?  When I was growing up, I was taught that if you wanted something, you earned it.  Either through working for money or just being helpful.  The only times that I didn’t have to earn what I wanted was birthdays and Christmases.  Seriously, when did people start expecting something for nothing?

I know there are people out there who have always felt that way, but it just seems that more and more people in this country expect handouts.  Maybe it’s a product of the people who have always felt that way having kids.  If they weren’t taught to work for what they want, why would they teach that lesson to their kids?

This generation has become a generation of greedy kids who grow up into greedy adults…and maybe it’s my generations fault for teach them that it’s okay.  I don’t know.  I just hope that MAYBE there are enough of us out there to flip this around.  Otherwise, our society as we know it might be screwed.

Decisions I’ve made

I have decided that this blog will be an all new blog.  Therefore, I will not be moving my old blog posts to this one.  I may blog about those same subjects later, but who knows.  🙂

Old Blogs

I will be moving some of my old blogs from my previous site to here.  While they are old, I still feel the same about them as the day Iwrote them.  So look out for the old.  I will be posting them all in one day…possibly tomorrow.

I’m not sure if I will be copying and pasting or if I’m going to re-write them, but either way, they will be the same posts.

Welcome!

This is the first of many blogs!  Welcome!

I hope that you enjoy what you read.  Please feel free to comment your opinions, but all I ask is that you keep things civil and non-argumentative.  Everyone has their opinion and not everyone will agree.  So in some cases, you might need to just agree to disagree.

I hope to update this blog at least once a week, but I will not guarantee it.  Please keep following my blog and go like my facebook page.
